Penn State Lehigh Valley has announced its 2020 Summer Camps, which include a variety of options for elementary and middle students, and registration is now open for camp offerings.
During the STEAM-Themed Summer Exploration Camps, campers entering grades first through eighth will have the opportunity to explore various science, technology, engineering, art and math fields while engaging in numerous age-appropriate and problem-based activities with educators and STEAM-industry experts. Activities will include LEGOS, robotics, Makerspaces, 3-D design, coding, and more. Camps will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 13-17 at the Penn State Lehigh Valley campus located in Center Valley. Parents are welcome to join their campers for lunchtime programming throughout the week.
“The summer camp is a fun, hands-on way to get kids engaged in the kinds of critical thinking and collaboration skills they are going to need later on in their lives,” said Nicole Moschberger, director of Penn State Lehigh Valley Writing Project, who is organizing the summer camp. “With this year’s STEAM-focus, it’s also a great chance for kids to explore future professions as engineers, scientists or writers.”
Emergency forms and medical forms are required for camp participation and will be emailed in June to the preferred email address provided. For more information about cost and to register, visit the summer camp website or contact Nicole Moschberger at 610-285-5239 or nrm157@psu.edu.
