UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Beginning Dec. 30, the Penn State Meet-Me audio conferencing service will be discontinued. The equipment required to support the service is now obsolete and no longer cost effective for the University to maintain.
Penn State has approved and recommends using either FreeConferenceCall.com or FreeConferenceCalling.com instead. The services — both from independent providers — are available 24/7 and offer free setup, a secure access code and online meeting management.
It's important to remember that while both services give the option to record the call, users must comply with privacy policies. Specifically, everyone on the call must be told if the call is being recorded and give their consent. Also, discussion of sensitive data (as set by AD71) is not permitted while recording.
