Penn State Mont Alto announces fall admissions events

MONT ALTO, Pa. — The Penn State Mont Alto Admissions Office invites interested students and their families to attend the following fall admissions events on the Mont Alto campus. Registration is available online at montalto.psu.edu/visit or by calling 717-749-6130 or 800-392-6173.

Penn State Day — 9 a.m. on Oct. 15, Multipurpose Activities Center. At the fall open house prospective students can participate in an academic fair with faculty members representing Penn State Mont Alto’s associate and baccalaureate degree programs, attend a student panel session, tour the campus with current students, and enjoy lunch.

Information Sessions —9:45 a.m. on Sept. 23, Oct. 21 and Nov. 18. Learn more about what Penn State has to offer. These programs include a tour of the Penn State Mont Alto campus and an information session. Admissions staff members are also available to answer questions regarding admission to Penn State.

Visitations and Campus Tours — Campus tours are conducted several times a week during the academic year. Students and their families can also meet with admissions counselors to discuss degree programs and learn about the application process.

At Penn State Mont Alto, students can choose from among six baccalaureate programs or seven associate programs or start the first two years of coursework from among 160 Penn State majors and transfer to another Penn State campus to complete their studies.

Penn State Mont Alto offers bachelor’s degrees in business; health policy administration; human development and family studies; information sciences and technology; letters, arts, and sciences; and nursing.

Important dates to note include Sept. 1, when Penn State’s application becomes available online, and Nov. 30, the recommended deadline to submit an application for fall 2017. In addition, all students are required to complete the 2017 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (known as the FAFSA), which will be available online starting Oct. 1.
