UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Students, faculty, staff and visitors at University Park are reminded to plan for frigid temperatures on Monday, Jan. 21, and to travel with caution. Travelers on campus should remain alert for isolated areas of ice. Crews from Penn State's Office of Physical Plant will continue to treat campus walkways, lots and roads throughout the day.
The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory for Centre County from 7 p.m. Sunday to 1 p.m. Monday. Forecasts call for temperatures to drop into the low single digits on Monday morning, with wind chill values well below 0 degrees Fahrenheit.
When traveling outside in cold temperatures, plan in advance. Wear several layers of clothing, including adequate coverings for the head, face, hands and feet. Penn State University Police and Public Safety reminds all students, faculty, staff and visitors to exercise caution during inclement weather, and to leave extra time for travel. Individuals are encouraged to take responsibility for their own safety, and should use their own best judgment when considering traveling to campus during inclement weather.
