UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State’s annual Prisoners of War/Missing in Action Remembrance Ceremony on Sept. 17 will include a 21-gun salute performed by members of the American Legion on the Old Main lawn.
The vigil begins at 4 p.m., with the 21-gun salute occurring shortly thereafter. Members of the Penn State community are reminded to not be alarmed at the sound of the salute being performed.
The annual event, which coincides with National POW/MIA Recognition Day, also will feature speakers, a missing man table ceremony and performances by the Wild Blue Yonders, Penn State Air Force ROTC’s a cappella group.
