Registration open for Conquer Run 5K to benefit Four Diamonds

The Conquer Run 5K, a competitive run and fun walk benefitting Four Diamonds at Penn State Children’s Hospital, will take place the morning of Saturday, Sept. 24, at Hersheypark. Runners and walkers of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to register online at

Participants in the event will be joined by this year’s Honorary Hero, Lily Jordan, a Four Diamonds child. Runners and walkers will help the 13-year-old conquer childhood cancer by collecting each of the four diamonds – courage, strength, honesty and wisdom – along the course. Sponsorship opportunities range from $1,000 to $10,000 and can be customized to meet each company’s needs. Companies are offered meaningful engagement opportunities with Four Diamonds through this event, as well as the chance to make a direct impact in the lives of children and their families.

Childhood cancer is the No. 1 disease killer of children in the United States – more than asthma, cystic fibrosis, diabetes and pediatric AIDS combined. Treatment outcomes for children with cancer have made tremendous improvements in the past 50 years, but one in five children with cancer will still die of their disease within five years. Four Diamonds is working to save all children from this deadly diagnosis.

The mission of Four Diamonds is to conquer childhood cancer by assisting children treated at Penn State Children's Hospital and their families through superior care, comprehensive support and innovative research. Each year, Four Diamonds provides direct support to approximately 600 children with cancer – 100 who are newly diagnosed and 500 who are continuing their fight. Since its creation in 1972, Four Diamonds has helped more than 3,700 children and families and supported a diverse platform of pediatric cancer research projects at Penn State Children's Hospital. The goal is to improve treatments and, ultimately, find a cure for children around the world.
