Resident assistant information sessions to be held Jan. 18-25

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Residence Life is currently seeking students who are interested in serving as resident assistants.

RAs possibly have the most challenging, as well as rewarding, jobs at the University. Through their roles as student educators, RAs are faced with the responsibility of helping students grow beyond their academic development. Whether it is organizing an educational program on relationships, helping someone with class scheduling, or just being there to listen when someone is lonely, RAs have a tremendous impact on residents’ lives. Besides the benefit of helping others, RAs also gain valuable skills and experiences from being placed in such a challenging leadership role.

Students interested in applying to this process must attend an information session. RA information sessions begin on Wednesday, Jan. 18, and conclude on Wednesday, Jan. 25.

In order to become an RA a student must:

  • Have completed 12 Penn State credits (Advanced Placement and transfer credits not included);
