Editor's note: Due to inclement weather, the April 19 performances of scenes from "Romeo and Juliet" and "The Merchant of Venice" will move from the Arboretum to the Pavilion Theatre.
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Actors from the Penn State School of Theatre will present scenes from Shakespeare on April 19 at the Pavilion Theatre and on April 22 at the Arboretum at Penn State.
The performances are a culmination of exercises in Shakespeare Performance taught by Steve Snyder, head of the Bachelor of Fine Arts Program in Acting and scenes director. Kristi Dana is voice and text coach.
Thursday, April 19, in the Pavilion Theatre:
- 6 p.m., scenes from "Romeo and Juliet"
- 7:15 p.m., scenes from "The Merchant of Venice"
Sunday, April 22, in the Arboretum's Poplar Court:
- 1:30 p.m., scenes from "Romeo and Juliet"
- 2:45 p.m., scenes from "The Merchant of Venice"
- 4 p.m., scenes from "Othello"
The performances are free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to the Arboretum performances.
