UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — A rising Penn State senior has submitted a video to a national contest promoting the 2020 Census, a contest designed to help amplify trusted voices in hard-to-count communities and to fill content voids in order to bolster census response rates. The video includes several other Penn State students, as well as University President Eric Barron.
Sebastien Kraft, a journalism major, Schreyer Honors Scholar and member of the Presidential Leadership Academy, submitted “We Count” for the contest. Competition participants were challenged to explain why the census matters in a short video that uses creativity, entertainment, emotion and/or humor.
