Tap-to-pay technology now available for on-campus laundry

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Payment terminals for all on-campus washers and dryers have recently been upgraded to accept tap-to-pay transactions. LionCash can now be used for laundry services in all Penn State-operated residence halls without needing to swipe an id+ card.

Upgraded technology for washers and dryers has been installed at all Penn State campuses. The contactless instillations come as part of a phased approach for creating a digitally centered campus. The Speed Queen app for monitoring laundry cycles remains unimpacted by this upgrade.

Additional technology upgrades are expected over the next few years for more locations to accept the tap-to-pay and contactless transactions.

Laundry services for on-campus residents at Penn State Harrisburg remain free-of-charge.
