UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Alumni Association's Dance Marathon Alumni Interest Group (DMAIG) has created a new fundraiser to benefit the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THON) in the fight against childhood cancer, with THON enthusiasts having the opportunity to become part of a lasting tribute that will be publicly displayed on Penn State's University Park campus.
The project, titled “DMAIG Mosaic,” will be a large collage of pictures submitted by THON volunteers, alumni and supporters. Picture Mosaics LLC, a company founded by Penn State alumnus Albert Charpentier, will produce the mosaic, which will then be available for purchase.

Proceeds from the DMAIG Mosaic will primarily benefit THON and THON’s sole beneficiary, Four Diamonds at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital. As part of the proceeds, $5,000 will be kept for the Rick Funk Endowment Scholarship, seeking to recognize a Penn State student who has demonstrated commitment, loyalty, leadership and the ability to motivate other students involved in THON. DMAIG has been awarding this scholarship since its inception in 1996. Any additional proceeds will be donated directly to THON.
Once completed, the DMAIG mosaic will be hung in the window of the new THON store, which will be in the HUB-Robeson Center when the building’s construction is completed next spring.

DMAIG is a Penn State Alumni Association Alumni Interest Group that promises to promote a continuing relationship between students and alumni who care about THON by providing opportunities for alumni to give time, money and resources to aid Four Diamonds in the conquering of childhood cancer.
