Transportation Services partners with Lyft to offer campus transit route credits

Lyft campus program to provide transportation to and from Mount Nittany Medical Center and Innovation Park during night and weekend hours

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Transportation Services has announced that due to low ridership, campus transit service to Mount Nittany Medical Center, Centre Medical Sciences Building, and Innovation Park on weekdays after 8 p.m. and throughout the day on Saturdays and Sundays previously provided by CATA’s Red Link will end Wednesday, Aug. 16.

Transportation Services has partnered with Lyft to offer ride credits for travel between campus and these areas during those times for faculty, staff and students. Ride credits will not be valid for use on home football game Saturdays.

An email was sent earlier today (Aug. 15) to all University Park students and full-time employees for the new Campus Lyft Service program. Employees and students who sign up for the program through this email will receive 20 Lyft credits per month worth up to $20 per ride for rides between 7:30 p.m. and 1 a.m., Monday through Friday, and between 9 a.m. and 1 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, for rides that start and end at the following location combinations:
