UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State University Libraries are hosting a fun, interactive open house from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 10 and 11, in Pattee, Paterno and all branch libraries at University Park. Grand prizes for undergraduate students include a chance to win an iPad mini, Penn State Bookstore gift cards, a Microsoft Surface Pro 2 and other giveaways.

Penn State school spirit will fill the Libraries, during two days of fun and educational activities that will acquaint students with Libraries services and collections. The first 350 students to visit all 12 library stops, including the branch libraries, will receive a Libraries T-shirt. All student participants who complete the event's minimum of five library stops will receive a stainless steel water bottle.

One of the largest and most successful library orientation programs of its kind nationwide, the Penn State Libraries’ Open House has been held since 2001 and attracts more than 3,500 students each fall. Student feedback from the event is highly positive, with more than 90 percent of students indicating that they would recommend the open house as a useful activity for other students.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit the Open House website. Tweet or Instagram via @psulibs or tag with #openUP or #faceofopenhouse.
