The spring 2007 edition of Walking Works at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Penn State College of Medicine ended Wednesday, May 23.
Approximately 75 teams of six people each, plus 150 individuals, participated in the challenge.
Award winners included the following:
-- Best Team Captain: Loretta Blaydon of team HMC Sole Patrol was nominated by another team captain and won a $50 gift card to Inside Track.
-- Most Influential Team Member: Justine Gaspari of team HLA Molecular Movers won a $50 gift card to Dick's Sporting Goods for her effectiveness as a motivator and role model.
-- Best Team Activities: Team Scrambled Legs and Achin' won for their participation in National Walk at Lunch Day, receiving six $10 gift cards to Karns. Team HLA Molecular Movers won for walking to the blood bank at Penn State University Physician Group, Cherry Drive to donate blood. They received six Omron step counters for their effort.
