Weekend event parking program in place Sept. 13-16

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Transportation Services will implement its weekend event parking program beginning Thursday, Sept. 13, through Sunday, Sept. 16.

All campus parking lots will require display of a valid University Park faculty/staff, resident student or visitor permit from 2 to 4 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 14, and Saturday, Sept. 15. All visitors in need of overnight parking on these nights should be directed to purchase a weekend parking permit and park in one of the designated visitor parking areas.

As announced prior to the first event weekend of the fall semester, increased fine amounts will be in place for campus visitors parked in violation of University parking regulations during designated event weekends. Thursday, Sept. 13

Weekend parking permits valid at all four campus parking decks (East, Eisenhower, HUB, Nittany) and Lot Red A through midnight Sunday night will be available for $35 at the following locations:

— East, HUB and Nittany parking deck entrance kiosks (cash only; available from 7:30 a.m. to midnight)

— Parking Office at 1 Eisenhower Parking Deck (cash or credit card; available from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

— Red A kiosk at White Course Drive (cash only; available from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.)

Friday, Sept. 14

Weekend permits valid at the campus parking decks and Lot Red A through midnight Sunday night will be available from 7:30 a.m. to midnight for $30 (cash only) at the entrance to all four campus parking decks (East, Eisenhower, HUB, Nittany) and Lot Red A at White Course Drive. Please note that anyone wishing to purchase a permit at Eisenhower Deck before 11 a.m. Friday will need to visit the Parking Office, located on the south side of the parking deck.

Saturday, Sept. 15

Visitor parking permits valid through Sunday will be available beginning at approximately 7 a.m. for $25 (cash only) at all four campus parking decks. Permits also will be available at Lot Red A at White Course Drive for $15. Faculty, staff and students with a valid Penn State parking permit may park at these locations on Saturday for no additional charge.

Commonwealth Campus student parking permits

Students from other Penn State campuses are reminded that Commonwealth Campus student parking permits are not valid for overnight parking at University Park on event weekends, and both faculty/staff and student Commonwealth Campus permits are no longer valid at any time at the East, HUB and Nittany parking decks. Any non-University Park students arriving for the weekend on Thursday or Friday are required to purchase a weekend permit.

Students from other Penn State campuses (except Altoona and Hershey) arriving on Saturday are directed to park at Lot Red A, where their Commonwealth Campus student parking permits will be honored. Students from Altoona and Hershey will need to purchase day-of-game parking for $25 at one of the four parking decks or $15 at Red A as mentioned above.
