Juneteenth Celebration explores groundbreaking Dickinson Law course

Virtual program included conversation with community about 'Race and the Equal Protection of the Laws'

CARLISLE, Pa. — The Penn State Dickinson Law community explored the groundbreaking Race and the Equal Protection of the Laws (“REPL”) course during a virtual program on Friday, June 18.

The program included welcoming remarks by Dean and Donald J. Farage Professor of Law Danielle M. Conway and presentations by Dickinson Law faculty members Mohamed Badissy, Stan Brand, Dermot Groome, Laura Williams and Sarah Williams.

Participants had the opportunity to engage in an active conversation with community members about REPL.

Topics explored included a course overview, race and capitalism, the Great Migration, diversity in the legal profession, and race and the U.S. constitution. This program was offered free of charge to Dickinson Law faculty, staff, students and alumni; 1.5 substantive CLE credits are available.
