Toward Equity: Improving Health Literacy to Meet the Needs of Neurodivergent Research Participants

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM / May 28, 2024

The Penn State Community Health Equity & Engagement in Research (CHEER) team will host a session to provide guidance to research teams around the unique needs and interests of individuals who identify as neurodivergent.

This session will highlight how unconscious bias may surface during consenting, and how an inclusive approach to study enrollment can create an equitable, safe space for this marginalized population. Workshop participants will learn what it means to be neurodivergent and best ways to create welcoming environments in healthcare and research participation for people who are neurodivergent.

The CHEER team welcomes two leaders in the field, Autumn Dae Miller and Andrea Layton, to share their expertise. Join us to learn more!

Register for the session here.
