UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State will host its eighth annual GivingTuesday event this month with the largest volume of fundraising campaigns to date. In a nod to the year of Penn State’s founding, the celebration will begin on Nov. 28 at 18:55 on the 24-hour clock (6:55 p.m. EST) and run until midnight on Nov. 29.

A slate of over 155 initiatives will benefit students at every college and campus across the commonwealth. Representing a wide range of scholarships, programs, organizations and causes, many campaigns this year highlight educational access and equity, a deeper investment in the arts, environmental sustainability and outreach efforts designed to build healthier and safer communities close to home and around the world. The largest number of student-run initiatives to be featured on GivingTuesday at Penn State — 38 — will support a diverse array of student groups.

Each year, the international fundraising event draws increased participation from fundraisers across the University and increased giving from alumni, students, families and fans. Beginning Nov. 14, individuals are invited to take their participation a step further by becoming a campaign champion and creating a personal fundraising page to benefit any active GivingTuesday campaign. More information, along with best practices for fundraising success, can be found on the event homepage. Faculty, staff, students and community members can also show their support at an in-person event, hosted by Penn State’s Student Philanthropy Network, to be held on Nov. 29 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the HUB at University Park.

Once GivingTuesday launches, updates on fundraising progress can be found at givingtuesday.psu.edu. Throughout the month of November, supporters can take a peek at what GivingTuesday 2022 has in store by following @RaisePennState on FacebookInstagram and Twitter.
