DUBOIS, Pa. — Two courses for real estate professionals, or those looking to enter the field, are scheduled at Penn State DuBois and open to all members of the public. Real Estate Fundamentals will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Nov. 5 through Dec. 10 in Room 201 of the DEF Building. Real Estate Practice is set to run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Jan. 5 through Feb. 4, 2016, in Room 209 of the DEF Building. The fee for each course is $350.
These classes are designed for individuals interested either in real estate as a profession, or in specific areas of the field. The courses are approved by the Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission and may be applied toward the educational requirements for the salesperson’s license examinations. The courses emphasize skills, technical proficiency, and practical application.
Real Estate Fundamentals provides a foundation for the study of real estate in Pennsylvania, covering language, principles, and laws that govern the business. Real Estate Practice is an introduction to all facets of the real estate business, including a survey of areas of specialization with emphasis on the role of a real estate agent in residential brokerage. The course also examines real estate transactions providing a working knowledge of the forms and documents used, as well as the related mathematics.
