DUBOIS, Pa. — Penn State will celebrate its ninth GivingTuesday on Tuesday, Nov. 28 — and Penn State DuBois invites alumni and friends to participate by showing support for individual student needs.

Penn State DuBois strives to provide every student with an exceptional educational experience. As the landscape of higher education continues to evolve, so, too, do the needs of students — and that's where The Penn State Fund for Penn State DuBois comes in.

The Penn State Fund for Penn State DuBois provides the campus with unrestricted funds to immediately address students' most pressing needs. Take, for example, the issue of student food insecurity. This semester, the campus food pantry has been visited more than 110 times through October alone, and that number continues to grow. Gifts to The Penn State Fund for Penn State DuBois during GivingTuesday will help to address student food needs, while also helping the campus to strengthen its scholarship programs, evolve its academic offerings, bolster its athletic programs, enhance student programming, and so much more.

Although GivingTuesday takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 28, Penn State’s celebration is kicking off early on Monday, Nov. 27, at 18:55 (6:55 p.m. EST) — a nod to the year in which the University was founded. Those interested in contributing or establishing a personal fundraising page as a campaign champion can donate and learn more here.

“Every student on our campus has different individual needs, from food insecurity to a need for scholarships to help with tuition and or housing costs. Our goal is to find the best ways to support each individual student and meet them where they are,” said Rebecca Pennington, director of student affairs.

Gifts made on GivingTuesday advance the University’s historic land-grant mission to serve and lead. Through philanthropy, alumni and friends are helping students to join the Penn State family and prepare for lifelong success; driving research, outreach and economic development that grow our shared strength and readiness for the future; and increasing the University’s impact for families, patients and communities across the commonwealth and around the world.
