Tickets are still on sale for the EMS Gala, a formal event sponsored by the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences’ (EMS) undergraduate student council for its students, faculty and staff, through Wednesday, Jan. 23.

This year’s gala will feature a “Masquerade” theme. It will be held at 7 p.m. at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center on Friday, Jan. 25. Doors officially open at 6:15 p.m.

Vivian Rennie, president of the EMS student council and a member of the gala’s planning committee, said the event fosters an environment where faculty and staff can interact and connect with students outside the classroom.

“This is a really special opportunity for everyone involved to become a community within the college,” Rennie said.

The gala will feature a dinner buffet, dancing, raffles, games highlighting EMS trivia, a photo booth to capture memories of the event and a few words from EMS Dean Lee Kump.

Tickets are $20 for students and $25 for faculty and staff. Masks are also available for an additional $5 or guests can bring their own.

Tickets and masks can be purchased in the Ryan Family Student Center on the ground floor of the Deike Building on the University Park campus from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Wednesday Jan. 23.
