— Alumna Tracy Brundage accepted the position of provost and vice president of academic affairs at Keystone College in La Plume, Pennsylvania. Brundage is a graduate of the Workforce Education and Development program at Penn State.

— Jen Hain, an alumna of the college's Workforce Education and Development program, received the ATHENA Award from the Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce. The award recognizes those who actively assist women in realizing their full potential, achieve professional excellence, and improve the quality of life for others. Hain is the director of the SUN Area Technical Institute, the first female to hold that position.

— Denise L. Kaminsky, a 1973 graduate of the college, has published a series of children's books that star the Nittany Lion. She has written five books — "Nittany Lion Has the Hiccups," "Nittany Lion Gets a Big Surprise," "Nittany Lion Tells the Legend of Princess Nittany," "Nittany Lion's Pennsylvania Vacation," and "Nittany Lion and THON." Proceeds from "Nittany Lion and THON" are donated to THON.

— Matt Landis, a 2007 graduate in social studies education, and current eighth-grade teacher in Bucks County, has published his first novel, "League of American Traitors." His second novel is scheduled for publication in March 2018 with a third to follow in 2019.

— Wil Del Pilar, an alumnus of the Department of Education Policy Studies, was named vice president of higher education policy and practice at The Education Trust.

— Norman Weistuch, who earned his doctorate in school psychology from the College of Education in 1987, published a book, "Kid From The Bronx."
