— Judy A. Alston, a 1996 graduate of the educational administration doctoral program, has been named one of five "Hidden Figures" in the field of educational leadership by the University Council of Educational Administration (UCEA) at its annual conference held Nov. 17 in Houston. According to UCEA, the award recognizes the "behind-the-scenes giants" in the field of educational leadership and policy. Alston is a professor of education at Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio.
— Ben Riden and Andy Markelz, both 2018 graduates of the special education doctoral program, have published "Creating Positive Classroom Environments With Electronic Behavior Management Programs" in the Journal of Special Education Technology. Kathleen Randolph of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs also contributed to the research. Riden currently is an assistant professor of education at the University of Minnesota Duluth and Markelz currently is an assistant professor of special education at Ball State University.
— Elizabeth Tyler Bugaighis, an alumna who graduated with a doctorate in educational theory and policy in 2000, is the dean of Education and Academic Success at Northampton Community College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
