— Wilma L. Bonaparte, who earned a master's degree from the College of Education in 1986, has been promoted to vice president of the Milwaukee Area Technical College – Mequon Campus in Mequon, Wisconsin. She also was selected as one the 29 Most Powerful Latinos in Wisconsin for 2017 by the State Journal in Madison, Wisconsin.
— Ebony Meyers-White, who earned her master's degree in the counselor education program in 2006, was awarded a Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching Grant for 2017-18 and is completing her Fulbright experience in Jyvaskyla, Finland, for educational research.
— Kerri Musick, an alumnus of the higher education graduate program, is the recipient of the Gerald Saddelmire Master's Research Award presented by The Professional Preparation Commission of the American College Personnel Association.

— Jennifer Wahl, a 2012 master's degree recipient in the educational leadership program, has been named the 2018 Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year. Three other College of Education alumni were named Teacher of the Year finalists. They are, Christina Frank, bachelor of science, secondary education, 1987; Georgette Hackman, master of science, curriculum and instruction, 2008; and Gregory Mason, bachelor of science, secondary education, 2006.
