— Pedro Cevallos, executive director of College Bridge in Hacienda Heights, California, is serving as co-principal investigator of the Math Pipeline Readiness Project (M-PReP), a $1.8 million grant from The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation. M-PReP is a longitudinal study that aims to learn the best practices for preparing underrepresented (low-income, minority, first-generation college) students for the rigors of college-level mathematics while in high school in order to ultimately increase their college graduation rates. Cevallos earned his master's degree in curriculum and instruction from the College of Education in 1999.

— Serena Pariser, assistant director of field experience at the University of San Diego and a 2001 Penn State College of Education graduate with a degree in secondary education, published "Real Talk About Classroom Management: 50 Best Practices That Work and Show You Believe in Your Students." The educational book is being used as a main text in two graduate-level classroom management courses at the University of San Diego.
