- Erica Frankenberg, professor of education (educational leadership and demography), is quoted in an article in The Guardian, “U.S. schools remain highly segregated by race and class, analysis shows.”
- Ed Fuller, associate professor of education (educational leadership), was interviewed for an article in The Philadelphia Inquirer, “As the start of the school year looms, teacher vacancies remain.”
- Kevin Kinser, professor and senior scientist of education (higher education) and head of the Department of Education Policy Studies, is quoted in an article, “Facing $3 million deficit, SUNY Potsdam weighs cuts to majors amidst leadership transitions,” for North Country Public Radio. In addition, Kinser’s comments are included in another article, “Arizona Global Campus Absorbs Its Outsourced Online Program Manager,” in Inside HigherEd. Kinser also was quoted in a Higher Ed Dive article, “Education Department issues new guidance to prevent ‘accreditation-shopping.’”
- Francesca Lopez, Waterbury Chair in Equity Pedagogy and professor of education (second language education), has been elected to Fellow status in Division 15 of the American Psychological Association. Fellow status requires that a person’s work have had a national impact on the field of educational psychology beyond a local, state or regional level.
- Paul Morgan, Harry & Marion Eberly Faculty Fellow and professor of education (educational theory and policy), was interviewed for a story, “ADHD in children: Who gets overlooked and how the pandemic has made learning harder,” by The Journalist’s Resource. In addition, Morgan’s research on racial and ethnic disparities is cited in the new DSM-5 manual, which the American Psychiatric Association uses to classify mental health disorders in the U.S.
