Students, staff and faculty members from Penn State's College of Education share recent research and career achievements.

·      Sarah Asson, a doctoral student in educational leadership pursuing a minor in demography, is lead author of a new paper, “Attendance zones in the suburbs” in Phi Delta Kappan. Erica Frankenberg, professor of education (educational leadership and demography), is a co-author.

·      DeMarcus Jenkins, assistant professor of education (educational leadership), was selected to receive the 2023 Emerging Scholar Award from the Comparative & International Education Society African Diaspora Special Interest Group.

·      Paul Morgan, Harry & Marion Eberly Faculty Fellow and professor of education (educational theory and policy), and Eric Hengyu Yu, a doctoral student in educational theory and policy and demography, co-authored a piece discussing their research, “Do elementary school students do better when taught by teachers of the same race or ethnicity? New research finds: Not that much,” for The Conversation.

·      Lydia Ocasio-Stoutenburg, assistant professor of education (special education), is lead author of a new article, “Beyond Representation: Partnerships, Intersectionality, and the Centering of the Disability, Family, and Community Lived Experience” in Developmental Disabilities Network Journal.

·      Kelly Rosinger, associate professor of education (education and public policy), is lead author of a new article, “The Impact of Performance Funding Policy Design on College Access and Selectivity” in Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis. In addition, Rosinger is a co-author of two other recently published papers: “The Unequal Impacts of Performance-Based Funding on Institutional Resources in Higher Education” in Research in Higher Education; and “Investing in the Workforce: The Impact of Performance-Based Funding on Student Earnings Outcomes” in The Journal of Higher Education.
