· Wilson Okello, assistant professor of education (higher education), authored an article, “‘Look a Negro!’: self-authorship, self-definition and the wake of anti-blackness,” published in the International Journal of Qualitative Studies in Education.
· Jonte "JT" Taylor, associate professor of education (special education), received the 2023 Outstanding Student Chapter Adviser Award from the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) at the 2023 CEC Convention & Expo held March 1-4 in Louisville, Kentucky. In addition, Taylor is co-editor of a new book, “The Mixtape Volume 1,” which discusses using hip-hop as an educational tool. Contributors from the College of Education include Elizabeth Hughes and Mildred Boveda, associate professors of education (special education), and Aaron Campbell, assistant professor of education (special education).
