Students, staff and faculty members from Penn State's College of Education share recent research and career achievements.
· Erica Frankenberg, professor of education (educational leadership and demography), is lead author of a new paper, “Demographic Change and School Attendance Zone Boundary Changes: Montgomery County, Maryland, and Fairfax County, Virginia, Between 1990 and 2010” in The Russell Sage Foundation Journal of the Social Sciences. In addition, Frankenberg co-authored a paper, “Small advances and swift retreat: Race-conscious educational policy in the Obama and Trump administrations” in Education Policy Analysis. Sarah Asson, a doctoral candidate in the Department of Education Policy Studies, is another co-author.
· Ed Fuller, associate professor of education (educational leadership), was interviewed for an article in EducationWeek, “Did Principal Turnover Increase During the Pandemic? Here’s What We Know.”
· Ty Hollett, associate professor of education (learning, design, and technology), co-authored a paper, “‘Over 800 data points’: how coaches and athletes collectively navigate data-rich learning encounters” in Information and Learning Sciences.
· DeMarcus Jenkins, assistant professor of education (educational leadership), authored a recently published paper, “Feeling Black: Black Urban High School Youth and Visceral Geographies of Anti-Black Racism” in Equity & Excellence in Education.
· Beverly Lindsay, professor emerita of education, has been selected as the distinguished external academic/academic lead for the program on Quality Assurance for graduate degrees at the University of the West Indies. The virtual graduate programs are designed for aspiring academic leaders and principals.
· Esther Prins, professor of education (lifelong learning and adult education), is co-author of a new paper, “White Christian Nationalism: What Is It, and Why Does It Matter for Educational Research?” in Educational Researcher.
