- Soo-yong Byun, associate professor of education (educational theory and policy), demography and Asian studies, has worked over the past several months with a diverse group of individuals charged with assisting Ascendium Education Group and Sova with the creation of a National Rural Postsecondary Research Agenda, which was released on Aug.19. This research agenda outlines key research questions in the field, with a focus on generating knowledge that can help practitioners and policymakers remove systemic barriers faced by rural learners from low-income backgrounds.
- Ed Fuller, associate professor of education (educational leadership), was quoted in a WJAC-TV report, “U.S. Department of Education approves PA American Rescue Plan funding.”
- Kelly Rosinger, assistant professor of education (education and public policy) is co-author of a new InformEd States policy brief, “The landscape of state funding formulas for public colleges and universities.” The lead author is Mitchell Lingo, a postdoctoral fellow at Penn State.
- Jonte Taylor, associate professor of education (special education), is the lead author on a new article, “Using the Science Writing Heuristic to Improve Critical Thinking Skills for Fifth Grade Black Girls” in Journal of African American Women and Girls in Education. His co-authors include College of Education alumni.
