2023 Benefits Open Enrollment runs through Nov. 18

Penn State's 2023 Benefits Open Enrollment runs through 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18. To provide a central location for information related to the 2023 Benefits Open Enrollment, Human Resources has built a section of their website dedicated to 2023 Benefits Open Enrollment. An on-demand webinar presentation is also available. In addition, employees can utilize the Benefits Mentor, a tool designed to help employees determine which health care plan may be the best for them and their families. This tool is available in Workday as part of Benefits Open Enrollment. For more information, contact HR Services at 814-865-1473 or submit an inquiry via WorkLion.

2022 Living Our Values Survey open through Nov. 22

Penn State launched the 2022 Living Our Values Survey on Nov. 7 as part of the University’s commitment to the Penn State Values, non-retaliation for those who report wrongdoing, and the highest level of ethical decision-making across the University. All faculty, staff, graduate students, technical service employees and post-doctoral fellows across all campuses, including Penn State World Campus, should have received an email with a unique link to participate in the survey on Nov. 7 from the Ethics and Compliance Initiative, a nonprofit that is serving as Penn State’s third-party administrator for this survey. The survey link will be sent by ethicssurvey@ethics.org. The survey will be open through Nov. 22. Learn more here.

"Swipe Out Hunger" drive to coincide with national Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week

Penn State is partnering again with a national nonprofit to fight food insecurity and student hunger at every campus across the commonwealth. The “Swipe Out Hunger” drive — a partnership between the University and the Swipe Out Hunger national organization — will run from Nov. 12 through Nov. 20 to coincide with national Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week. During that time, students at every campus location can donate $1, $5, $10 or $15 when they pay for their meal at any residential dining facility, including mobile orders. Those donated funds will go toward Penn State’s Student Emergency Fund, which directly supports students at every campus facing food insecurity, as well as additional needs, including housing insecurity, homelessness and unexpected emergencies. Learn more here.

Information session for Summer 2023 programs to be held Nov. 14

An information session for Summer 2023 programs will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, in 221 Chambers Building and will be available for viewing via Zoom. The two programs that will be presented are “Language, Culture, Community: Maymester in Oaxaca, Mexico” and “Teaching Multilingual Learners: Immersion in Ecuador.” Scholarships are available to support access to both programs. New photos accepted for University-wide re-carding events

Penn State students, faculty and staff with older versions of the id+ card are being asked to submit new photos ahead of re-carding events that will be held University-wide this spring. As Penn State continues to distribute the updated, mobile-forward campus card, new pictures of cardholders are being requested to ensure correct representation and prevent future usage issues. Photos will be accepted through Nov. 23. New id+ cards will then be distributed during re-carding events at each campus during the spring 2023 semester. Spring re-carding events at each campus will be announced as details are confirmed. The spring events will follow re-carding efforts at five Penn State locations this fall: Dickinson Law and the DuBois, Great Valley, Shenango and Wilkes-Barre campuses.  Find more details here.

If you have an announcement you would like to share with the College of Education, send it via email to edrelations@psu.edu. Submissions must include a contact name and telephone number so that Connections can verify the information.
