"College of Education Alumni Updates" highlights career achievements by College of Education alumni.

  • Raquel Muñiz, who received a doctorate in educational theory and policy from Penn State in 2018, received the American Educational Research Association (AERA) 2025 Early Career Award. The Early Career Award recognizes a scholar in the early stages of their career no later than 10 years after receipt of the doctoral degree who has conducted a distinguished program of cumulative education research in any field of educational inquiry. Muniz is associate professor in the Boston College Carolyn A. and Peter S. Lynch School of Education and Human Development, as well as associate professor in Boston College’s School of Law.
  • Maria Yoder, assistant teaching professor of nursing in the Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing, has received the 2025 George W. Atherton Award for Excellence in Teaching. Yoder has a doctorate in higher education from Penn State.
