UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Students, staff and faculty members from Penn State's College of Education share recent research and career achievements.
- Karen Eppley, associate teaching professor of education (literacies and English language), participated in a roundtable discussion hosted by Rep. Paul Takac (HD 82) at Bald Eagle Area middle and high schools to discuss issues surrounding equitable rural education.
- Ed Fuller, professor of education (educational leadership), was cited in an NBC News article, “From ‘crisis’ to ‘catastrophe,’ schools scramble once again to find teachers.”
- Jeffrey Hayes, professor of education (counselor education), co-authored an article, “Therapeutic alliance and clinical outcomes in teletherapy and in-person psychotherapy: A noninferiority study during the COVID-19 pandemic” published in Psychotherapy Research.
- Wilson Okello, assistant professor of education (higher education), was invited by Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines for a private, small group discussion focused on the impacts of surveillance from different perspectives. Okello’s comments focused on how the history of racialized surveillance comes to bear on the present and some considerations for the national intelligence community moving forward.
- Carlos Zalaquett, professor of education (counselor education), is featured in “Advocate Spotlight: Carlos P. Zalaquett” by the National Board for Certified Counselors. In addition, Zalaquett is a co-author of a new book, “Essentials of Intentional Counseling and Psychotherapy in a Multicultural World, 4th Edition.”
