Students, staff and faculty members from Penn State's College of Education share recent research and career achievements.

  • Liza Conyers, professor of education, is a recipient for this year’s ARRPE Research Award. This award is presented to a person (or team of researchers) whose recent contributions (within the last three years) to the rehabilitation and/or disability scholarship are worthy of recognition for their impact on the field.
  • Haley Fleegle, a doctoral student in educational leadership, was recognized for her leadership in this article in the Altoona Mirror, “AASD elementaries earn praise.” Fleegle is assistant superintendent of curriculum, instruction and elementary programs at McAuliffe Heights at Irving School. Raisa Gray, a doctoral candidate in educational leadership and acting principal of the same school, is also mentioned in the article.
  • Roderick Lee, associate professor of information systems at Penn State Harrisburg and affiliate associate professor of higher education at Penn State University Park, was recently elected the inaugural chair of The PhD Project Advisory Council (PAC-15) and named as a board member for The PhD Project Association
  • Jeanine Staples-Dixon, professor of literacy and language, African American studies, and women’s, gender, and sexuality studies, is author of a recently published book, “Extraordinary Pedagogies: An Endarkened Feminist Approach to Revolutionizing Teacher Consciousness.”
