Students, staff and faculty members from Penn State's College of Education share recent research and career achievements.

  • Karen Eppley, associate teaching professor of education (literacies and English language), is a co-author of “Why Rural Matters 2023: Centering Equity and Opportunity,” a report issued by the National Rural Education Association (NREA).
  • Ed Fuller, professor of education (educational leadership), is featured in an article in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, “'Ridiculously inequitable': New report highlights challenges of Pennsylvania's school funding system,” in which he discusses his latest research. Additionally, Fuller was interviewed for an article by The Philadelphia Inquirer, “Here’s how Pa. school funding impacts salaries, resources, and certification: 5 takeaways from a new study.”
  • Kevin Kinser, Head of the Department of Education Policy Studies and Professor and Senior Scientist of Education (higher education), is quoted in an article in MarketWatch, “The educational technology stock that went from $98 to $1. Inside the 2U debacle.”
  • Carlomagno Panlilio, associate professor of education (educational psychology), is a co-author of a recently published article, “Identifying what works for whom: Implementation outcomes following iLookOut, a child-abuse identification and referral training program” in the Journal of Clinical and Translational Science.  
  • Esther Prins, professor of education (lifelong learning and adult education), was interviewed about her research for an article in Lancaster Online, “Voter guide focused on hot-button social issues draws Lancaster County GOP school board candidates.” 
  • Carlos Zalaquett, professor of education (counselor education) and co-coordinator of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program, delivered one of two keynotes scheduled during the General Council of Psychology’s VI Convention on Nov. 17. The General Council of Official Colleges of Psychologists is the coordinating and representative body at the national and international levels of all the Official Colleges of Psychologists and the Autonomous Councils existing in Spain. Additionally, Zalaquett is quote in an article, “Virtual Reality’s Growing Role in Campus Counseling” in Inside Higher Ed.
