Kristine Altland is a first-generation college student and undergraduate admissions professional hailing from Anaheim, California. As the college’s recruiter, Altland helps prospective students and families learn more about Penn State’s admissions process and shares the wide variety of opportunities available within the college. She earned her bachelor of arts in English literature and writing from the University of Redlands in 2017 and her master of education degree in higher education and student affairs from Penn State in 2020.

Due to her own experience as a student leader, Altland brings with her an enthusiasm for the first-year student experience as well as a curiosity about successful transition programming. She is also an active participant in the Pennsylvania Association for College Admission Counseling (PACAC) and advises the College of Education Undergraduate Student Council.

Altland’s personal interests include listening to podcasts, spending time with her three dogs, and commanding the cornhole boards with her husband at Penn State tailgates.
