UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — This week, we recognize seven Penn Staters who go above and beyond what's asked of them in their work at the University. Thank you to:

Jim Shields, at Penn State New Kensington, whose nominator wrote: "Jim Shields is known in the region as the guru of job fairs and a master of student professional development! His ability to organize the chaos of these large events is unmatched. We are truly grateful to Jim for his dedication to students and support to them as they navigate the job search process."

Jackie Yingling, with Penn State World Campus, whose nominator wrote: "Jackie Yingling is the go-to person for cheerful help in our office. She picks up tasks, re-trains staff and juggles so many aspects of our unit with a smile. Jackie works tirelessly to improve processes and procedures, and her upbeat personality and can-do attitude brighten our office everyday!"

Margie Williams, at Penn State Worthington-Scranton, whose nominator wrote: "Margie is the glue that holds our continuing education department together. She is there for me and our director whenever we need her. In the fast paced, constantly changing world that is continuing education, Margie is always a beacon, always professional and always assists in everything we do."

Jennifer Fenstermaker, at Penn State Hershey, whose nominator wrote: "Jennifer and I were out walking for lunch, and a couple stopped and asked for directions. When they didn't understand the directions, Jen volunteered to get in their car and take them to the building. She not only took them there, but walked them to the office where the appointment was."

Randi Bone, in the College of Engineering, whose nominator wrote: "Randi has never-ending enthusiasm and isn’t afraid to show it. Combined with her love of Pinterest, without her, Halloween in the office would not be nearly as much fun!"

Herb Combs, in Intercollegiate Athletics, whose nominator wrote: "Herb always goes that extra mile in whatever he does. I am new to the University, and Herb has helped me out tremendously and is always willing to help out when needed."

Jacqueline Warnick-Piatt, at Penn State Wilkes-Barre, whose nominator wrote: "Thanks to Jackie Warnick-Piatt, coordinator of Student Activities, for her dedicated work at Penn State Wilkes-Barre. She goes above and beyond in her duties… late night movies, early morning healthy breakfasts, so many programs and events — too numerous to mention. She is energetic, kind and helpful."

Do you know someone who deserves a shout-out? If you do, consider taking a minute to nominate that person by filling out a short online form. For more information about the process, visit the "We Are!" guidelines.
