UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence will continue to maintain central scanning services for instructors at all Penn State campuses.

In 2023, Penn State announced that the office handling Scantron exam sheets would be closed. Due to the relatively few options for cost-effective exam scoring, the decision was later rescinded.

The Scanning Services office is located in the Pollock Testing Center and managed by the Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence. The Schreyer Institute has reported a recent increase in requests for scanning and testing services
