UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and Undergraduate Education has announced open registration for an upcoming Mentorship Training Workshop. This workshop is designed to equip Penn State faculty members with the essential tools and skills to foster effective mentorship of undergraduate and graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in the research setting.
The workshop will be held Friday, May 3, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. at the Dreamery, situated on the ground level of the Shields Building at the University Park campus.
The curriculum for this workshop comes from the Center for Mentored Experiences in Research and will include the core competencies of aligning expectations, assessing understanding, and addressing equity and inclusion.
While the workshop will focus on mentoring students and postdocs, the knowledge and competencies shared are applicable to a broader audience, including the mentorship of faculty.
