UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Office of Faculty Affairs has launched the Associate Professor Promotion Survey, which was emailed to tenured associate professors at all Penn State locations on Sept. 23. This anonymous and voluntary survey seeks to gather critical insights and feedback from faculty members to improve the promotion process and better support the professional growth of associate professors.
"Participating in this survey gives our associate professors a chance to shape the future of faculty support at Penn State, ensuring their voices are central to this important process," said Kathy Bieschke, Penn State senior vice provost. “We strongly encourage all who have been invited to participate.”
The survey will close on Sunday, Oct. 13. Survey findings will be shared with the Promotion to Full Taskforce, which includes University faculty senators and academic administrators from across Penn State. A summary of the results will appear in the Faculty Digest and inform efforts to enhance faculty development and create new guidelines to support faculty promotion. The survey is sponsored by Senior Vice Provost Kathy Bieschke and was developed in collaboration with the University Faculty Senate, the Office of the Vice President for Commonwealth Campuses, and the Office of Planning, Assessment, and Institutional Research.
