Hoben Thomas, professor emeritus of psychology, joined Penn State as an assistant professor in 1966. He was promoted to associate in 1970 and to professor in 1976. Thomas is well known for his innovations in mathematical approaches to psychology, and his work has been supported for many years by the National Science Foundation.
