UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Office of Planning, Assessment, and Institutional Research (OPAIR) invites Penn State faculty, staff and students to a virtual workshop on improving program assessment through Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
UDL is an educational framework that encourages flexible teaching methods to address the diverse needs of all learners, helping instructors create inclusive learning environments and ensuring all students can engage and succeed.
The "Improving Program Assessment with UDL" virtual workshop will take place on Wednesday, March 26, from noon to 1 p.m., presented by Gina Pazzaglia, teaching professor and director of the Master of Professional Studies Program in Nutritional Sciences, and Christopher Barnes, assistant director of assessment.
The session will explore the purpose, key concepts and implementation of UDL 3.0 guidelines, focusing on their impact on learning outcomes assessment. Participants will also learn assessment strategies that align with UDL principles to foster inclusivity and enhance student learning.
