LEMONT FURNACE, Pa. — Charles Patrick, chancellor and chief academic officer of Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, today announced the hiring of Dean Julian as director of enrollment management.
“Dr. Julian brings years of experience and great enthusiasm to the position,” according to Patrick, who said Julian will be managing the administrative operations for admissions, student financial aid, marketing, and public relations.
Julian comes to the Fayette campus from Immaculata University, where he served as director of online instruction and programs. His previous administrative positions include manager of recruitment and community outreach at the University of Pittsburgh; assistant dean, online graduate and undergraduate programs, at Chatham University; and assistant head for enrollment management at Winchester Thurston School, a private PK-12 independent school in Pittsburgh.
Julian was “thoroughly excited” when Patrick called to offer him the job. “I realize coming into the position that there is such great opportunity for all learners at Penn State Fayette,” he said, “and I look forward to sharing these wonderful offerings with prospective students.”
Community involvement will be one of Julian’s priorities. He said, “I will be going into the greater Fayette and surrounding counties to establish meaningful and productive relationships with businesses, organizations, and community colleges to promote higher-education degree attainment as the catalyst for personal economic growth for individuals who want to make a better life for themselves and for their families.”
Julian earned his doctorate of education in higher education administration and policy studies, master's of education in counseling and student personnel services in higher education, and bachelor of science in psychology, all from the University of Pittsburgh.
A native of Clairton, Pennsylvania, Julian now lives in South Union Township with his wife, Lisa Goetz, a writer and social media expert who works in public relations and marketing.
