LEMONT FURNACE, Pa. — Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus honored faculty and staff recipients of annual awards at the 2018 Retirement & Recognition Celebration on Friday, Nov. 30, at the Community Center on campus.

Charles Patrick, chancellor and chief academic officer, and Gary Monaghan, past chairman of the Penn State Fayette Advisory Board, presented the awards. Established in 1979, the monetary awards are supported by the Fayette Campus Endowment Fund, along with several family endowments.

Excellence Awards

The Staff Excellence award was presented to Lori Omatick, director of development. The Faculty Excellence award for outstanding teaching was presented to Nathaniel Bohna, associate teaching professor of engineering.

The Ellen M. Laun Advising Excellence award was presented to Pamela Pologruto, associate teaching professor of physical therapist assistant and academic coordinator of clinical education.

The Barbara B. Solesky Support Staff Service Excellence award was presented to Collette Ridgeway, administrative support assistant in the office of academic affairs.

The Rose Ann Williams Staff Mentoring Excellence award was presented to Sherry Scully, administrative support assistant in the admissions office.

Recent retiree Sharon Harrold was recognized for her years of teaching — from 2001 to 2013 as an adjunct faculty member and from 2013 to 2018 as a full-time faculty member. In 2010, she received the Adjunct Teaching Excellence award.

In Memoriam

Patrick honored Doris Wright Coldren, who passed away on April 30, 2018. Coldren was an instructor in English and humanities at Penn State Fayette. She received the Outstanding Fellow Award in 1992 and retired in 1997 after 29 years of service.
