PSUbuy to replace Shop OnLion by end of fall 2024

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State is modernizing its procurement processes, a key component of the University's Procurement Strategic Transformation initiative, with the implementation of PSUbuy, a new procure-to-pay system slated to replace Shop OnLion by the end of fall 2024. Currently in the design phase, the project involves close collaboration between Central Procurement, IT professionals, business area representatives from across the University, and Deloitte consultants.

This modernization is expected to enhance operational efficiency through the following features:

  • Simplified navigation with a unified user interface and customizable dashboard
  • Direct processing of purchase order changes within the system (external form processing will no longer be required)
  • Real-time notifications for shoppers regarding shipments, invoices, and payments
  • Automated alerts to suppliers when discrepancies arise between invoices and purchase orders
  • Ability to attach goods confirmations to specific line items

In the coming weeks, select Penn State suppliers will receive invitations to the PSUbuy system.

More details with key dates, expectations, and next steps will be provided through the Shop OnLion listserv in the next two weeks. Faculty and staff can join the listserv by emailing L-SHOPONLION-subscribe-request@lists.psu.edu.
