Penn State Global seeks nominations for faculty, staff, and student awards

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Global is now accepting nominations for the 2023 Advancing Global Penn State Awards, including the Penn State Global Lifetime Achievement Award, as well as the annual W. LaMarr Kopp International Faculty Award and the Ardeth and Norman Frisbey International Student Awards.

Recipients will be recognized at the Penn State Global awards luncheon on April 4.

Advancing Global Penn State Awards

The purpose of the Advancing Global Penn State Awards is to recognize outstanding contributions of individuals and academic units across the university, including the commonwealth campuses, who have demonstrated success towards achieving the goals of a Global Penn State.

There are six awards for the 2023 award season. These awards reflect the dynamic work the continues across the university. All are welcome to nominate a colleague or provide a self-nomination. Nominees are encouraged to review descriptions carefully on the Advancing a Global Penn State Awards webpage.

The deadline to submit nominations is Jan. 17, and full application packages are due by Feb. 6.

W. LaMarr Kopp International Faculty Award and the Ardeth and Norman Frisbey International Student Awards

The Kopp and Frisbey awards are designed to recognize those at Penn State who make extraordinary contributions to the advancement of the international mission of the University. Applicants for the Kopp must be a full-time faculty member and Frisbey nominees are full-time students with non-immigrant status.

The W. LaMarr Kopp International Faculty Award recognizes one faculty member for excellence in leadership, commitment and international education through research, teaching, and service.

Up to four international students (holding non-immigrant status) will be selected for the Ardeth and Norman Frisbey Awards. Graduate and undergraduate students are encouraged to apply. Consideration is given to students enrolled in any academic program at any Penn State campus who have exhibited exemplary contributions furthering international understanding.

The deadline to submit nominations is Jan. 17, and full application packages are due by Feb. 6.
