STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Global Connections will host the third annual Women’s International Night from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at Minitab headquarters, 1829 Pine Hall Rd. in State College.
Founded in 1961, Global Connections is nonprofit United Way agency and Penn State affiliate dedicated to building community across cultures.
The celebration will include international food, henna hand painting (mehendi), chair massages, calligraphy in different languages, hands-on crafts, dance demonstrations, a fair trade gift sale and a silent auction.

Proceeds will support Global Connections’ community-wide initiatives and activities, including free programs such as the Conversation Partners Program, International Friendship Program, English as a second language classes, International Speakers program and a tax assistance program for international students. Global Connections also assists the community with translating and interpreting services, luncheons that feature cultures and cuisines from across the globe, and cultural competency trainings.
