Registration is now open for the annual Graduate Exhibition, a showcase of musical performances, cutting-edge research, and visual arts presented by Penn State's graduate students. All degree-seeking graduate students who are currently enrolled in graduate degree programs at Penn State are eligible to participate in Exhibition. The Graduate Exhibition will be held in a virtual format for 2022 with the exception of the Performance Option, which will be held in person.
Registration for all exhibitors must be completed by March 1 at 11:59 p.m.
Each exhibition entry will be judged and scored. Penn State alumni, faculty and the general public are encouraged to register as judges. Awards will be given to those students whose presentations are judged best in each category.
Exhibitors in the Visual Arts category will have the opportunity to share their artwork with alumni, Penn State, and State College community members in a Gallery Walk on Friday, March 25, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the HUB-Robeson Gallery. The artwork will be on display from March 25 to April 17. The Performance Option will be held in person and judged on Friday, March 25, at 7 p.m. at the Recital Hall at the University Park campus.
The Graduate Exhibition features five distinct categories showcasing Penn State graduate students’ research and creative accomplishments:
— The Research Presentation Option is open to graduate students from all disciplines at the University. Students will present their research via a recorded oral presentation.
— The Design Option is open to graduate students from all disciplines whose research focuses on the design of a product, whether that be in a 3-dimensional or digital space. Students will present their design projects.
— The Visual Arts Option is open to graduate students for whom creating studio work is a required part of their graduate degree program. Student artwork will be displayed on the exhibition website with a recorded explanation of the genesis of the artwork. The artwork will be on display from March 25 through April 17.
— The Video Option is open to graduate students from all disciplines who wish to present their research in a video format. Videos are 2 minutes in length and capture the excitement, importance, and value of the scholarly work.
— The Performance Option is open to all graduate students who are pursuing graduate degrees in the performing arts.
