The Henry Gallery: 'Avant-Garde' opening reception

Penn State Great Valley will host a reception on Jan. 13, 2022, for the opening of a new exhibit, "Avant-Garde in times of COVID."

"Avant-Garde in times of COVID" is a virtual and on-site installment that exemplifies artwork created against convention and that expresses the artists' views of this world two years after the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. All of the artists were inspired by the feelings of loss and isolation they experienced during pandemic. Using unconventional materials and new techniques, the exhibition hosts photographs, prints, paintings, sculptures and mixed-media works. This exhibition represents the desire to move forward with creativity and thinking outside the box with an honest perspective of this world.

The Women’s Caucus for Art Philadelphia (WCA Philadelphia) is a regional chapter of the national Women's Caucus for Art organization, which was established in association with the College Art Association in 1972 to promote and support women in the arts. WCA Philadelphia provides opportunities for growth to local artists and the ability to be a part of a greater community.
