MALVERN, Pa. — From painting, to photography, to sculpture, "Fresh Insights" — the latest exhibit at Penn State Great Valley’s Henry Galley — examines art in a new way. On display from Jan. 8 to March 9, the collection features the work of young members of the Chester County Art Association (CCAA).
A non-profit, cultural organization, CCAA promotes participation in the arts through quality instruction, exhibitions and community outreach. CCAA believes that art does make a difference and has enhanced the community by involving people of all ages and aspirations in the arts since 1931.
“'Fresh Insights' is a curated exhibition showcasing the work of ten experimental members who are either exploring unconventional mediums or finding innovative approaches to traditional art materials,” said Karen Delaney, curator of exhibitions at CCAA. “In some cases, as with Elaina Sweeley, an aspiring art major who makes soft-sculpture in alluring colors, 'Fresh Insights' is the artist's first curated group show. Visitors will find that all of the artworks expand boundaries and represent an updated portrayal of Chester County art today.”
